ABC has long recognized the need for effective professional continuing education. Continuing education is the norm in the health care profession and serves to maintain and improve the health care system and delivery of services. ABC credentialed individuals must seek continuing education in order to maintain performance at the basic level of professional competence and advance training and specialized skills beyond the basic level.
ABC awards discipline specific credits, when appropriate and feasible, to Category I approved programs. Although ABC will acknowledge content outside their scope of practice, credentialed individuals are required to earn the majority of their continuing education credits through content specifically related to their ABC credential.
