Are you required to participate in continuing education to maintain your current credential? Does the organization from which you obtained that credential keep track of your continuing education activities for you? The American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics, Inc. (ABC) does! And this service is now being offered to all individuals who participate in ABC approved programs. Once enrolled in this program, you can simply pull out your Continuing Education Activities Report (CEAR) for quick and easy review. Your activities will be tracked and recorded through the sign-in sheets and/or data files returned to ABC at the conclusion of each program.
Approximately 150 different sponsors apply to ABC for credits with almost 600 different programs/events approved each year. These programs are also accepted by the Florida Licensure Board. ABC will provide enrolled individuals a list of all upcoming programs upon request. The list provides the sponsor, program name, contact information, location and number of eligible credits.
You can also have programs approved and recorded that have not applied to ABC for course approval. For example, if you attend a local CPR program, as required by most healthcare professions, you can have it added to your record. All you need to do is submit the information to ABC at the conclusion of the program. Copies of the necessary forms will be mailed to you with your enrollment packet.
Enrollees have the option of selecting their own ID number for easy recollection.
A copy of your activities report will be mailed to you annually and/or upon request. You will have all of your information in one convenient place to provide to your credentialing organization, employer, state licensure organization, third party payors and hospitals to ensure that your privileges are not jeopardized.
Not only can ABC track your future activities, but we can also research your prior attendance at ABC Category I approved programs as far back as 1998 and include those meetings to your report retroactively.
This service will be provided at a per annum rate of $100.00 with a one-time start up fee of $25.00. Annual fees will be prorated from the time of enrollment. Research on attendance at ABC approved programs prior to enrollment can be conducted at the rate of $25.00 per meeting. Please be advised that, as confirmation of attendance, participant’s signature must be present on each AM (morning) and PM (afternoon) sign-in sheet to receive full credit awarded to the program. Only those sessions that ABC can verify your attendance will be reflected on your activities report.
Enrollment in this program does not imply certification or registration by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics, Inc.
