As part of ABC's continuing efforts to promote the value of ABC credentials and accreditation, ABC participated as an exhibitor at the June 2004 CMSA Annual Convention in Nashville, TN.
The main objective of ABC's ongoing participation with CMSA is to raise awareness among case managers and insurance regulators of the necessity of verifying credentials and accreditation for O&P patients care. With state licensure requirements existing in only 8 states, ABC is working together with case managers and their national associations to ensure that O&P services are only reimbursed if the practitioner has the proven qualifications to provide quality patient care- ABC certification or accreditation.
When working with case managers, be sure to inform them of ABC's new web resource, www.oandpcare.org. As a website designed specifically for healthcare regulators, insurance payors, and case managers, www.oandpcare.org provides easily accessible information on O&P patient care and the need for ABC certification and accreditation, plus an online directory of ABC facilities and credentialed individuals.
