The transition to Computer Based Testing for the American Board for Certification in Orthotics & Prosthetics (ABC) is complete and the initial administration of computer based testing will take place November 13-18, 2006.
While cost of planning and administering the examination has increased for ABC, exam fees are unchanged for the eight year in a row.
ABC has teamed up with Professional Examination Services (PES) and Comira/CATS to establish over 150 test sites across the country for the certified practitioner and fitter exams. In contrast, previous exams were given in only 10 locations. ABC exam candidates will now have a less time consuming experience and will save significantly on travel costs and expenses.
The one-week window being offered allows candidates to schedule an exam time that works for them between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm, Monday through Saturday. The exams will take place at a local CompUSA Super store or at a local college campus. Information on testing will be sent to candidates upon approval of the application for certification.
